Quectel takes the lead in launching second-generation 5G modules supporting 3GPP R16 protocol
On February 10, Quectel announced that it was the first to launch the second-generation 5G NR communication modules that support the 3GPP R16 protocol - Sub-6GHz modules Rx520F series, Rx520N series and millimeter wave (mmWave) module RM530x series.
The 5G NR modules released this time use the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon?
Among them, Quectel's new 5G module products that support the Sub-6GHz only frequency band include RG520F (LGA package) and RM520F (M.2 package) based on the Snapdragon X65 platform, and RG520N (LGA package) and RM520N (M.2 package) based on the Snapdragon X62 platform.
At the same time, Quectel will also launch the second-generation modules RM530F and RM530N that support both Sub-6GHz + mmWave 5G network connections, both of which use M.2 packaging to facilitate end users to take full advantage of mmWave’s large bandwidth and Sub-6GHz wide coverage.
It is worth noting that Quectel’s second-generation 5G module fully supports TDD/FDD 5G Sub-6GHz carrier aggregation (CA) in three combination modes: FDD+TDD, FDD+FDD and TDD+TDD. It can effectively improve 5G coverage, capacity and transmission rate by integrating existing 5G spectrum resources.
Compared with previous 5G modules, Quectel's second-generation 5G module will also support R16 enhanced features, further empowering the implementation of 5G industrial Internet, smart manufacturing, Internet of Vehicles and other applications through ultra-reliability and low latency.
The high-end series modules based on the Snapdragon X65 platform have a maximum peak download rate of 10Gbps, which can fully meet applications with extreme speed requirements such as 4K/8K ultra-high-definition video transmission.
Quectel CEO Qian Penghe said: "We are very pleased to launch the industry's most advanced 5G communication module based on Qualcomm Technologies' latest Snapdragon 5G modem and RF system. Its significance not only improves the transmission rate, ultra-low latency, reliability and power consumption, but also makes 5G more popular." This advanced technology can be expanded to a wider range of IoT vertical markets, application scenarios and business models. I believe that Quectel's leading 5G product portfolio will benefit thousands of industries, raising their automation level, production efficiency and service level to new heights. We are very happy to drive innovation and provide the best service to our customers.”
Sun Gang, Vice President of Qualcomm Product Marketing, said: "Snapdragon X65 is our fourth-generation 5G modem-to-antenna solution, designed for global 5G deployment. It has unprecedented powerful performance and technological innovation, has leading advantages in network flexibility, capacity and coverage, and can meet the needs of multiple 5G segments. We are very pleased that Quectel will be among the first companies to adopt this solution and launch module products, bringing exciting opportunities to many industries and applications."
