A comprehensive inventory of global component shortage models in March!

The global chip shortage is getting worse, coupled with the continuous sudden natural disasters, which has made the electronics industry nervous. Consumers are also facing rising prices and shortages of TVs, mobile phones, cars, and game consoles.

The automobile, network communication, and storage industries are most in short supply of chips.

Automotive industry:From the shutdown of the original factory caused by the cold wave in Texas to the recent fire at Renesas, it is difficult for major automotive chip manufacturers this year. 66% of Renesas' disaster-affected production capacity is automotive chips, has also caused the automotive chips of Renesas, NXP, and TI to skyrocket again. In addition, the factory affected by the disaster is also an AKM OEM. Currently, AKM OEM is not affected. However, due to the fire, AKM inquiries have also increased.

Netcom industry:The chip gap exceeds expectations. Broadcom's delivery time has been extended to more than 50 weeks, and some of its chips take more than a year. With the extension of Broadcom's delivery time, a large number of orders have been transferred to MediaTek, Realtek, Liji, etc. The current delivery time of MediaTek and Realtek has also been extended to 20-30 weeks.

Storage industry:The market is still crazy, with Samsung experiencing the highest price increase due to shortages, and delivery times for some Micron and Winbond products exceeding 22 weeks. DDR3 2Gb is still the most scarce material.

At present, the popular chips in these three major industries have almost 0 inventory status on websites such as Digikey, Mouser, and Future:

Passive components will continue to rise

Although passive components have not been affected by major shortages, major manufacturers have continued to increase prices and delivery times have also been extended. In the next April, Yageo's polymer tantalum capacitors will increase the contract price for European and American customers by 10% to 20%, which also means that all of Yageo's main product lines will increase across the board; Samsung will increase the price of MLCCs for medium-sized contract customers, with an average increase of 10%. The lower the profit, the greater the adjustment.
The price adjustments of major passive component manufacturers are as follows:

Security chips increased by more than 40%

Although the added value of security chips is not high compared with automotive and mobile phone chips, they cannot escape the impact of "core shortage", especially the shortage of memory chips and main control chips.

At present, the delivery cycle of security products has generally been extended by about half a month, and the delivery period of some products has been extended to nine months. Security cameras have increased by about 40%.Many security companies are looking for new chip manufacturers. It is predicted that the shortage of security chips will continue in the short term, which is also a market area worthy of attention.
